How
we did it
Susan
Crawford, Author
Susan
Crawford has been building Web sites since 1995 and has understood Internet
user behavior long before that discipline became a science. She has stood
witness as Web sites evolved from corporate "brochure-ware" to personalized
portals of user-generated content. Most recently, she has lead establishing
enterprise-wide social media standards, directed Internet advertising initiatives,
location-based (mobile) marketing strategies, and traveled the U.S. leading
workshops on Webmaster methodologies.
Her own special projects have included a highly successful download center, a proprietary ecard functionality, conducting focus groups, and producing photo shoots and webcasts. Susan authored the Web column for Technology For Worship Magazine, and contributes to several online communities. With the bulk of her client work being CPR for existing sites (that preserves as much original investment as possible), she came to recognize that her greatest value is in empowering her clients with information management and basic Webmaster tools.
Best
Works Are Fleeting Achievements
"If
you think news is old the minute it is printed, just ask a Webmaster for
a project sample from his/her portfolio. Like a patron of a commissioned
portrait, the moment the artist presents his finished masterpiece, the patron
wants changes. Web sites are no different in the hand-off to its owner.
So, the question to ask is not "what site did you build?" but
more "which role did you play?" My roles have been largely those
of Web strategist and Webmaster [which lead to my creating this
quiz]."
